Statue In Eze
When I was in Nice, France for business in 2007, on a free Saturday I drove my rental car to the magical town of Eze, a medieval village that ascends up a pointed, rocky hilltop rising from the Mediterranean Sea. On the very top sits the Jardin Exotique d’Èze, a garden with amazing 360 degree views of the entire land. I was fascinated by these sculptures that I encountered while walking through the grounds and knew I would one day capture my experience and feelings of this time in oils. I painted this many years later in fond remembrance of that experience using only three colors: Titanium White, Cinnabar Green, and Cadmium Deep Red.
Oil using limited palette on 6x8" paper. Painted area measures 5x7"
Framed (may vary from one seen in photos).
