Sarah's Realization
This illustration for my comic book, "The Perils of Limestone," shows a pivotal moment in Sarah's survival. With the majority of her house ripped away due to a massive sinkhole and her confined to a bathroom slipping into the seemingly bottomless pit, in this moment, she realizes a way to save herself. It is one of my favorite illustrations in a comic of which I am very proud of all artwork contained within. I love how I've represented this moment in time. She's focused as her thoughts alternate between being resigned to an ill fate and working to save herself, as the bathroom itself begins disintegrating.
Pencil, watercolor and gouache with razor blade cuts on paper mounted onto illustration board. Measures approximately 8 3/4x12"
